Re: Interesting MOT
Update on the situation. Checked the voltage across the battery when the engine is off. 12.36Volts. When the engine is started the voltage drops to 11.63Volts. It does suggest a problem on the charging side. Will be carrying out a full diagnostic test this evening with a specialist engineer. Thanks ...

Re: Interesting MOT
It may be worth getting the alternator checked, the car runs off both the alternator and a lesser extent the battery. Even if the battery is flat the alternator should provide power to run the vehicle and charge the battery once the car has been jump started. So worth checking out. I'll get the alt...

I suspect the new battery is masking a problem and the techies will come along shortly and suggest why.Once the car had been started,it shouldn't have cut out, regardless of a flat battery. I had an interesting MOT session yesterday. My wife and I took both the Zeds for their annual MOT. My wife’s was first and it passed with no advisories. Glad both got through with little fuss and little costs. The years seem to have flown by.
My two up for tests early next year but some work to do before then ( exhaust, tyres and instrument illumination).

Why not keep it out on the road a little longer. Nothing to beat driving on a cold clear morning with the roof down, even if it is January.

With 18inch wheels, you seem to be trying to remain fashionable throughout the winter!
