Leather cleaner + residue on headlight (added 21.8.11)
Anybody got anything they can recommend for a REALLY deep clean on leather?? I bought some Mers and it didn't do what i wanted. I can get pics if you guys require them. The seats on my Z show their age unfortunately... the upper seat e.g headrest looks fine, nice and clean, but the actual bit where ...

really nice looking car you got there! It looks spot on in the photos! :D Not to hi-jack your thread, but can you ask your chips away friend how much they normally quote to repair leather on a Z3's driver seat? My leather is scuffed/ripped and i was thinking of asking those guys for a quote but had ...

Electric / Power Seat Passenger Side
Hi all, Just noticed that the passenger side electric seat isn't working. The drivers side works fine, up down, back & forward, but the passenger seat should only go forward + backward, but it's not doing that. I push the little button forward + back but i get no response. Any ideas? I had a loo...

Mine did the same - removed the bonnet switch and since then it has been quiet :D which reminds me - must get a new one! Say for example you remove the bonnet switch, that just disables the alarm for the bonnet? But the interior sensors would still set off the alarm? Correct? If so, can you show me...

Alarm keeps going off in the wind
Hi all,
gotta pick your brains again, sorry The alarm on my new (well, new to me) Z3 keeps going off which i think is due to the wind (it's really bad at the moment).
Is there anything i can do to stop this? The neighbours are gonna go crazy soon

That's actually a switch aswell as a light and it lets you disable the interior movement sensors for when you're parked with the hood down. The light lets you know the alarm is armed, or what tripped it most recently via a series of flashes. Mine was exactly the same when I bought my car, it's a bi...

ive got the exact same issue, just made a thread about it. as a temporary fix, i opened up the keyfob and squeezed the two metal pieces that hold the battery closer together. i also found the screw in thevback needs to be the rightvsize and held in quite snugly. this is a good, working fix for now b...

Payment cleared, forms filled in, i'm a BMW Z3 owner! Would you believe this car is 14 years old?? It's a 1997 model and has been looked after very well. The only downsides were a couple of small, not very costly problems which were: couple of stone chips, remote locking being a bit intermittent, th...

Replacement Keys + key not working
Hi guys, finally got my Z3 this evening :) It's on my drive. I've had trouble with the spare key/remote keyfob not working + setting off alarms, nightmare :head: The main key works but is temperamental whereas the spare key lights up, but doesn't work. Where can i get two replacement keys that work ...

You might find it easier to access them by removing the gear stick gaiter and reaching up from there. Depends how small your hands are  That's a great tip. just tried it this morning took two minutes, as I have two heated switches to go into the dash. I just thought I would have a quick go be...

Why don't you switch the policy over to the Z3 and sell the coupe now?? The company gave me a quote of almost £2000 to do this because i'd need to create a new policy (Cant remember their reason why), whereas if i wait til i've got my no claims on the coupe at the end of December this year, i can g...

Battery disconnected, or connected?
As some of you may know, i bought a Z3 and i'm waiting for the cheque to clear, i'm hoping it'll be with me this week. Thing is, i've got another car (an absolutely fantastic Hyundai Coupe) which is still running on an insurance policy. The plan is, to sell the Coupe ( :bawl: ) and just have the Z3....

Re: Cassette/CD Player Removal
Hi LookinFoolish and welcome to the froum :wave i'm half tempted to rip out the original Alpine cassette player and stick in a headunit with an aux port. An Alpine unit is unlikely to be the "original". Standard production was I believe a BMW badged Phillips derivative. My question is, ho...

Cassette/CD Player Removal
Hi all, just managed to get hold of a BMW Z3, a 1997 model which looks the part. I'll try get some pics up soon. As much as i like the retro feel to the car, i'm half tempted to rip out the original Alpine cassette player and stick in a headunit with an aux port. My question is, how will this affect...
