zedebee - I think that for some models (post-99) you can have that function programmed on or off by the dealer or someone with the appropriate computer equipment. Not sure about older cars though.. I don't think it's a DIY job anyway! SilverSpoon - The reference point is step 5 and on. If you can g...

The engine bay box switches the siren on-off. I'm not sure I understand what are you trying to do exactly.. Are you just trying to get an additional keyfob programmed into your alarm system? If so, you need to follow steps 5 and on ONLY. The problem I had with mine is that apparently the battery had...

I had the same problem on mine and it turned out to be a faulty lock motor, got one off a 3-series (eBay) for £5 and it's been perfect ever since.

Some people also suggest checking the wiring loom where it enters the trunk for split cables.

I can confirm the Dunlop for post-99s, mine's still on its original set (less than 20k on the clock). They're not too bad but then again I haven't tried the F1s everyone seems to rave about.

The old 1.9 had Kumho Ecstas and they were actually rather good for the engine size.

If you get yourself a copy of the TIS, either on eBay or download off BitTorrent or Emule, you can get hold of all the instructions.

IIRC it involves drilling with a circular saw to cut the holes and laying new wiring in (nothing's pre-wired).

The central metal bit is quite expensive, if you've broken it. You can use liquid metal (araldite) to glue it together though and it forms a really good bond, although you will loose the folding functionality.

I may have a front cover and possibly a rear cover too if you need those.
