Seriously, shouldn't be too difficult to do though and you could probably pick up the bits from a breakers out of an old E36 M3.
You'll need the steering column stork and actuator for certain but not sure on the the wiring, there's probably a box under the dash as well.

Glad you enjoyed Silkwood Farm what pudding did you have? With regard to the non starting at the docks I would check the battery connections as it is not too uncommon for one of the terminals to have a bad connection. I bet slamming yhe boot lid down was just enough to dislodge one of the terminals....

If you want a convenient stop off near Leeds you could come off at jn40 M1 head for Wakefield and there is a Days Inn or Holiday Inn just off the roundabout. There is also a great pub just around the corner called Silkwood Farm which do great meals with puddings to die for. Maybe easier rather than ...

Try putting your handbrake on a click or two, I had a similar thing where the springs on the drum brakes had slackened off and started to rattle putting the handbrake on slightly puts tension on the offending spring and temporarily stops the tinkle. Mass Air Flow, measures the amount of air entering the engine. It will run a little rough with it disconnected but if it stops it cutting out it could be the culprit. Thing to do would be to get a diagnostic done send see if there there are any other errors pending as maf problems don't always throw...

I bet it is your MAF try disconnecting it and see if it runs. The ecu drops into a safe mode and a EML light will come on the dash but it should run.

Yes I think you are quiite right there thinking back to when I took the policy out but I did ask at the time and they said they didn't want any info on NCB as it wasn't aplicable which shocked me at the time.

The best thing with RH Classic Insurance is that they do not take into account any NCB hence you do not have to transfer or or give any evidence of previous NCB.
