Thanks. They are actually the same numberplates (ie the same actual slabs of plastic) that were on the last car, which miraculously both survived the accident intact!

Sticking with 16s for now.

I confess I haven't had the nerve to take a drill to the bonnet yet (two holes are required so you need to be very precise) so the tortoise is still on a shelf in the garage. Last time, someone else did it for me!

Welcome - good story! I personally think the car looks great and I speak as someone of inherently conservative taste!

Hard to tell from the photos but the paint finish looks very good.

Yet you seem to have now fitted them again? I don't have an M20 engine. Something producing a little over two and a half times more power. It needs 4 pipes as did the M5 (as did the M3) :D :D :D Also I was a bit bored of de-rigueur quads. RS Audis seem to cope just fine with two pipes......

Jonny, you cannot leave it on there too long as it gets into the grooves and goes milky! I did mine then washed it clean with water and kept doing it till it was all clear then filled the lens with water and left it standing for a while. And the orange comes off a lot easier with a new pair of lens...
