The cheapest quote I could get with Aviva was £704!!! Even if I told them I had 5 years+ NCB it was still £640. I can't understand how someone else can get such a different quote. I am 40 with no convictions, no claims and a reasonable postcode (so I am told by other insurers). The car is on the dri...

Re: Wanted: Z3 Silencer / Back box
Hi J
Do you know the ebay item number so I can have a look at the photos?
It does sound like a lot more exhaust than I need and I am not sure the fitting at the manifolds will be the same as my 97 2.8. What car was it fitted to?

Wanted: Z3 Silencer / Back box
Does anyone have an exhaust for a pre 09/98 2.8 Z3 lying around? The part number from RealOEM is 18101436554 which includes the front and rear silencers. I think 18107500206 will also work ok, this is the rear silencer only from a post 09/98 2.0, 2.8 and 3.0i. All I need is the rear silencer, I want...

I have had my zed for 11 months now and have never seen another one whilst I was driving mine, except going the other way on the motorway when you can't really wave! Hi Heath, Thanks for the reply, I can hear a very slight change in engine note but can't see the compressor starting, but that doesn't really surprise me as there is no voltage across the fuse 39 which powers the magnetic lock on the compressor. Ok, I know air con is not essential on a roadster but I've got it and I want it to work (but it doesn't)! I've just had a quote from RH at £327, for a 97 2.8 and me age 40. Classicinsurance were £365 and Adrian Flux £433.
There were a lot at around £650 to 750 and ther rest at £1300 ish!
RH and Classic were both good for modifications with no extra charge for an induction kit.

I've got a Bavarian Dominator B800 so can do Airbag codes and light resets for free in Batley, West Yorkshire.
I'll take it along to Newby and Silverstone as well just in case.

Re: setting mileage on clock cluster
I am pretty sure you can set the mileage on the speedo. I beleive the milage is recorded on both the ECU and the Speedo, if you fit a speedo with a different milage you should get a 'tamper dot', a little light to show some thing is wrong. You can only set the mileage to whichever is the higher mila...
