you havent got a pool of petrol under the filler cap due to a blocked drain have you?
That was the cause of my petrol smell at one time

I have recently done it with mine, and yes there is a dip in low end performance (which isn't really that noticeable) but the difference from 4000 revs upwards is very noticeable.
and that's the range I use for overtaking.

The bad news is that when the timing chain cover was put back on they didn't make sure it was flush, so it sits a couple of mm's higher that the rest of the engine :head: . Mot fail unless you swap back before test , airbags where fitted have to be in place at time of test , so keep your old wheel, also you will have an airbag light on permanently and passenger side will not deploy in event of an accident. Ask the missus how she feels about that

I once drove over a carrier bag without noticing,
It wrapped around the prop-shaft,
The noise sounded like the car was going to be a write off with all the major mechanicals failing at once.

sounds like you may have isolated a fault after the switch

Has the wiring to the mirror been damaged behind the door card. possibly by movement of the glass? That's where I would go next

I disagree, In the example I quoted I believe the rotational forces would cause the longer bolts to deflect more than short ones. Think of it another way, loosen every bolt slightly and see the rotational deflection in the long bolts versus doing the same with the short bolts, I bet by turning the w...

I have just bought some of the 'bolt to the hub' type. The trouble with the alloy version, as in the photo, and as Mugs rightly pointed out, is that because the holes for the hub bolts are opened up, counterbored and countersunk, it will leave very little metal (of a weak type) to hold all the force...

I think you should check the gauze filter at the bottom of the pump, Sounds like the pump is ok to supply one side only but not both. the get clocgged up and produce poor flow for the pump.
