Re: AlloyGator rim protectors

http://www.alloygator.co.uk/ Its worth looking at the demo video of them running along a curb with the rim protectors in place. Looks quite impressive to be honest and you can trim any damage off the rim protector with a sharp blade. I might be tempted as having the new alloys fitted on Monday, but...

Re: AlloyGator rim protectors

Some tyre like the F1 have a rubber rim protector built in to the tyre design...I doubt that it'll absolutely prevent damage to the rim, but it does extend beyond the rim a bit, and may prevent some damage. Yes - I went for cheaper tyres just about four months ago - a full set, mainly because I'm s...

Re: AlloyGator rim protectors

Well, the reason I asked is because even though I've been super careful about kerbs, I've still managed to scrape the one rim - the front nearside two or three times. That's the wheel which is always going to be the one to clip or graunch. My other wheels are untouched. Of course, fitting 18" w...

A few days ago I went into my local branch of The Wheel Specialist at Farham near Portsmouth. I wanted a quote for a repair/refurb of just one rim - the nearside front. Cost of split rim repair

I have 5 spoke Z4 split rim wheels on my Z3 (see pics below). However, I've kerbed the front nearside rim in a couple of places over the last 18 months (so easy with low profile tyres). Yesterday I went to my local 'The Wheel Specialist' to ask for a quote to repair just that one rim. They wanted £1...

Sounds like when you changed the headunit you missed the connection for the footwell amplifier. The Z3 has a slightly odd arrangement in that the passenger footwell speaker has an amplifier on it, which is used for both footwell speakers. This has an extra connection, which on my BMW to ISO adapter...
