Re: Light switch - panel illumination
That's not quite true. Assuming that I am reading the wiring diagram correctly, the supply to the rheostat is protected by a 10A fuse (F37), which also supplies a few other things as well. The problem I think is that the rheostat itself is not rated at 10A, so in the event of a short circuit in one ...

There are actually three types of wind deflector - one that fits to the tops of the seatbelt turrets and two that fit to brackets mounted under the storage box trim with different width variants for pre- and post-facelift cars. I had the turret type fitted to my car before I retrofitted roll hoops t...

Depends upon whether the car had a staggered setup. This is normally a wider rim on the rear. For example the ///M had 225s on the front and 245s on the rear. It is common to see a 255 on the rear on the same rim. The 35 or 40 is a percentage of the tyre width, so to keep the sidewall the same you d...

It's at times like this that you wish you had RobertT's Frogeye. Hmmm. AFAIAA all Z3s have the round connector under the bonnet. It is needed because the OBDII connector inside the car is only connected to the engine module. Okay, I think you can rule out the tilt switch. It may still be the alarm, but this is looking less likely.
