Yes from what you say it sounds like fronts are out of balance particularly if it occurs at a set speed then disappears. How old are the tyres and what condition are they in, if the tread is low or side walls weak it might be worth putting a new set on the front and have them balanced rather than me...

Mine checked out on the site as did my other car.
Out of interest I ran a few of the cars that have appeared on Wheeler Dealers TV show, interesting to see how they faired after they were sold on, worst one appeared to be the Triumph Stag with loads of fails on a multitude of things!!

If you think it is coming from the cylinders when was the last time you changed the oil, it could be a sticking valve lifter, might be worth putting some engine cleaner in the oil, running it then changing the oil to remove any build up of varnish or gunk from the lifters. Go for Mikes suggestion first, the idle control valve can get gummed up and can be fixed with a good clean, spray some carb cleaner in it and wash it out well.

Your idea of removing the belt seems like the way to go in order to pinpoint the cause, don't rule out any idle bearings in the belt route being the cause.

New tyres fitted, seems a coincidence with the noise appearing so soon after, whip the wheels off and check there is nothing trapped between the disc and the disc back plate that could cause the noise when the wheels are turning.

Could well be old codes if you didn't clear them when you fixed the faults.
your Peake reader should have the ability to clear the codes so you can then re read to see if they come back after running the car.

Take it out and check it for cracks, you can apply 12v to the terminals to check how it activates and see what is causing the noise, most likely its worn, best replace it if that is the case you don't want it falling apart and sucking debris into the engine.

Once you read the codes it should tell you what set the light and you should have the option of resetting the light to see if the code returns again.
