hi, i would recommend changing the ccv valve as it is buried under the inlet manifold, along with the joining plastic breather pipes as they can come brittle causing n air leak or increased oil comsumption.

Just ordered a fitting kit from gsf as if i am going to the hassle of stripping the discs off them it will be sods law that a spring has broken and i am stuck waiting for the postman! looks like total cost will be just under £32 for pagid shoes from eurocarparts and the fitting kit, not bad really.

Hi all, just a quickie, planning ahead, I am 99% sure that i need to replace the handbrake shoes due to grabbing, poor op, 12 years old etc; question is to remove them, do I need a special tool to unclip them? i only ask this as after googling someone says that the spring and pin need a special bmw ...

Hi, regarding cost, I have been quoted £288 for clutch and £520 all in if i need a new dual mass flywheel. This is in the midlands. Does initially sound like clutch release bearing issue

ordered same fuchs from opie last week. Excellent customer service as I ordered 75w instead of correct 75w/80; they changed the order and didn't charge the difference . car booked in to change oil as i figured for a tenner, it was not worth the hassle !

There was an old thread ( sorry, can't remember where!) on here where someone made a blanking plate so that the whole assembly can be binned, possibly gookah? if my poor memory is right !

I have tried pumping the clutch but no difference. I must admit I have wondered if the slave cylinder was playing up after having an earls cdv bypass hose fitted or whether the garage had bled it correctly. Maybe... I have had an earls hose fitted about a year ago which improved the action but the pedal is heavyish not light and there are no obvious leaks. I do get a bit of clunking when changing gear sometimes ( I know the boxes can be a little agricultural!) and have experienced a wierd feeling :) wh...

Evening, recently I have noticed that the clutch pedal is higher than before and after engaging, there is no more travel, ie the pedal is right at the top. there is no slip or judder so am guessing the auto adjust is working. I bled my brakes earlier in the year using one of these, must say real easy and hassle free! well worth £20 from screwfix. I bought a 750ml bottle from eurocarparts and still have a bit left. Total time, about 1 hour. recommended

I must admit my 2.2 sport is much crashier and firmer than my my moms 2.0 which was on standard suspension and 16" wheels. I have cosidered changing the springs to eibach as even though they are lower, members have said that they are more compliant and less firm.

I have a 2.2 titanium edition with 245/45r17 rears and m suspension. Currently i have avon zz3's which wear faster on the inside due to the camber( I must admit it does look a bit mad from the rear!) I expected them to wear ridiculously fast but so far, i have got 17,000 miles and probably a couple ...

i have some silver ones on my titanium 2.2 and no probs. I made some small deflectors which protect the front edge of the sills/ rockers made from black plastic. secured with push pin trim clips to the fenderliners which are like a small mudflap but dont look too bulky!

tweaked the cable this morning, found it easier to remove the ducting which deflects air to drivers footwell, only held in by 1 t20 screw. Makes access much easier and reduces risk of snapping plastic lever. Just wanted to say a big thanks for all the replies and help. At least now i can control the...

After travelling back up M20/M25/M40/42 today in first sun, then rain and then snow! I finally got home to a glorious 7 degrees, washed the zed and dropped the roof! sure was a good feeling Even the dog enjoyed it sat in the passenger footwell ! Lets hope spring is at last finally here!

afternoon all, I have a heater that is either red hot at fully clockwise and as soon as i turn the dial down a bit, its cold, ie nothing in between. I have had a new waterpump and thermostat about 3 months ago so am a bit lost! any advice, as usual would be greatly appreciated!

hi guys, i have pm'd chiefriley but after 6 months on from adjusting the 2 bolts at the bottom of the door, all is well no more leaks so deffo worth a try and no glue involved

wow, some good responses; my zed is my daily driver and has to do a 54 mile round trip 3 days a week. I am constantly amazed how some people drive in the snow with no regard to speed, braking or other road users. wow, what an adventure driving back from derby to tamworth last night in the snow! 35mph max and then couldn't get up the drive. I guess 245's are good in the dry but not so good in the snow! had great fun sliding around but then got stuck has anyone else had fun in the snow?

nice one brian, not looking forward to it but it seems to be often overlooked but appears to be the cause of many a rough running engine, especially if you are experiencing high oil consumption.
