Re: Z3 2.8 Widebody 1998 For Sale
I just discovered that my car is CAT D but I don't know any details I'm afraid. I have reduced the asking price.

Z3 2.8 Widebody 1998 For Sale
I have owned it for one year and applied myself to sepnding loads of time and money on it and getting it "just so" . Now I have been smitten by an M Roadster so this one has got to go. The good stuff: Low mileage; the 65000 is verifiable from on line MOT data. There are staggered 17" ...

Re: Kent Cruise Sunday 11th May 2014 CRUISE ON
I'm in Dartford;
first I thought I was busy, then I wasn't, then I almost swapped the z for a Z3M, and then I didn't.
So now I am free and have a clean Z3 with a hard top on so if it's all the same with everyone else I will come along.
Don't require lunch since have a bit of a do to go to later.

Re: FUSE BOX TOP SECTION REPLACEMENT.
Thanks for this Barry it gave me the courage to do mine after the mechanics who did my manifold conversion succeeded in breaking off the clips for the diagnostic pods on the fuse box. A couple of points to add to what is a very accurate walk through of the job. Disconnect the battery. There are four...

Re: How to retrofit cruise control on 1997/2.8?
I'm doing the same thing on my '98 2.8 and I have all the parts and am ready to go. (just been too busy at work). I've been staring at it though and two things bug me: 1/ Drilling through the wheel arch to fit the actuator bracket (not the drilling just getting access beneath the fuse box). If you h...

Re: Retro-fit On Board Computer
If it helps anyone, my computer (1998 pre facelift 2.8) was borked when I got the car and I bought a new (used) one from a breakers. No coding or anything it just worked straight off and the readings seem sensible, even the frost warning bongs as it should. I think they are coded to the engine size ...

HRW Switch
I just bought a hard top that came with a load of extra goodies and one of these is a brand new (boxed) heated rear window switch for the face lift style dash. My Z is the pre face lift so this is surplus to requirements. Its part number B61.31.1.376.444 and the guy I bought it from shelled out £44....

Re: WANTED!!!! Hardtop brakets / fixing kit.
I think that I may be typical of a "new" Z3 owner in this respect. If I had gone out looking for a hobby car I would probably have bought a more expensive sports car than my 1998 2.8 that fell into my lap and cost me £2,000. Too good to be true for such a lot of car, well specced up and ju...

A second hand hard top in the correct colour.
Really like the look of the Z's in coupe form.

M50 Fuel rail cover
I have had the M50 manifold and BBTB conversion kit fited to my 98, 2.8 and it has transformed the car, much more purposeful engine performance and exhaust note. One small downside is that the old fuel rail cover does not really fit anymore. It bolts on ok but its obviously not really the correct sh...

White Z3 Dartford
Seen a smart white Z in Dartford a couple of times, is it you? Looks good with matching hard top, not seen many white ones, is it wrapped?

Re: Hello and spare key
I had exactly the same problem with my 98 when I bought it in July. I had one of these mobile services come round to cut another key and programme a blank chip for the immobiliser. Its quite a performance and involved desoldering the chip from the circuit board and all sorts. (From what my guy said ...

Re: On board computer/Boot trim
When I got my Z (2.8, 1998) the on board computer simply showed "PPP" and nothing else. I tried all the little tricks you'll find on here but nothing would change it. I bought one from an on line breakers plugged it in and it now works perfectly. Expect to pay about £50.
