confused.com turned out to be pretty useless for me - it came back with just three quotes - most of the insurers couldn't cope with any mods (in my case only alloys, hardtop and leccy roof).

Tourniquet - if you want a high quote to complete the set, try BMW Insurance for a laugh! :roll:

I vote for a spare (even it is ghey!).

I can't imagine the mess that Ultraseal/Tyreweld would make inside your tyre. It must stick to the hub and valve and everything, thus making the tyre unrepairable.

phpBB (the software this site runs on) has some known vulnerabilities. I've just been looking at one that allows the remote execution of system commands. I don't know what version the site is currently running, but it may need updating to a later version to prevent this problem recurring.

Just a thought, but if the catalyst was recently replaced, then the new one *may* have a warranty of its own. Sounds to me like it was a defective part. When was it replaced and what make is it? It might also be worth pursuing the manufacturer seeing that the garage has gone bust.

Must have been "Silver Z3 Day" today. Three in an hour! I drove past an S reg silver Z3 parked on Regent road in Altrincham at about 4pm on my way out, and then on my way back just before 5pm I saw two silver Z3's going the other way on the A556 (towards M6) within a minute of one another....

Depends on the shape of your body. I'm 5'11" and I find my Z3 to be one of the roomiest and comfiest cars I've ever driven. There are plenty of people taller than me that drive them. Best way to find out is to sit in one and see if you can operate the pedals etc. But I wouldn't have thought 6ft...

Cat failures can cause poor running. Dealer thought this was might be the problem with mine - turned out to be a cam sensor. He popped it on the ramp and checked for rattles in the cat.

On mine, to disable the tilt sensor you press the lock button twice. This is advisable on ferries. :wink: Locking with the key does not set the alarm.

Using the key to put the windows up is something I do quite often having learnt about it a couple of months ago. Good tip. :D

besicaly it is an animal skin so it is not going to be viscous when it is dried out and hot.
