Tyres have been upsized, that's all - nothing really to worry about though for fit or handling - but I think visually a 235/45 particularly looks a bit too tall.

Re: Roadster Vs Coupe
I don't think there's much difference cabin space Coupe to Roadster, both feel pretty cosy! One main reason is the seat position is too high - if you can lower it more than the standard lowest setting then it liberates a lot more space. I have done this by removing foam from the seat base.

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade, they make the car handle much more precisely and the cars feels a whole lot more stable on the road. Ride takes a small hit, but I don't notice it anymore - it's only really in slow situations where you're driving on a very bumpy uneven road. As above the rear mounti...

Porsche Boxster probably does fit this bill though, starting at around £3k, some even under that! I know someone who buys full working cars with no real problems just to break them for parts.

That bolt fix is probably good enough for a while yet - just check the chassis rail that leads back to front just hidden under the carpet on the left. That often cracks along there it gets worse. Re: Rear Disc corrosion - advice needed
It looks like the brakes are not worked enough or the pad doesn't sweep the whole of the outer disc. Either way the rear discs are cheap, that rust is fairly established and won't wear away. It would be a good idea to put new disc and pads on taking care on cleaning the guides on the caliper carrier...

The anti-submarine "lump" is the same on all Sport seats including the M seats, but the standard angle of the seat is wrong hence the complete lack of underthigh support. I can recommend this mod, I raised the front of my Z3 over 10yrs ago and did the same to my Coupe in 2005 as soon as I ...

Good info with the exception of IV(4) IMO - the Ring isn't particularly hard on tyre or brakes (not compared with UK circuits anyway). To start wearing tyres and brakes you've got to be really on it. Obviously uprated pads are a given but that's because the standard pads are so poor.

The Torsen diffs can be quite clunky on initial drive take up due to the amount of gears inside which might be partly why there are so many complaints about noises on clutch take up! E36 probably mostly have dual mass flywheels, certainly the M3 does. My 205GTi had Jetronic, the throttle switch was pretty simple; an idle micro switch to confirm idle position and cut fuel, and from just off-idle to WOT (which was actually at 2/3 or 3/4 travel) it is open as Jetronic relies heavily/primarly on the flapped airflow meter. There is no 'Silver Bullet' to stop tramlining - you just need everything to be on top line - anything less and you will have problems, particularly if your tyres have rather stiff sidewalls and are 45/40 profile. My car had Pilot Sports when new, and when I bought it at only 11k it tramlined badly...

Z3M diff is unique to the car, the E30 M3 LSD is similar, but believe the Z3M LSD pack is stronger. Not worth breaking an series diff for the LSD as that means rebuild.
£276 would be a good price if it wasn't damaged more than the backplate. Are you sure it is damaged? they are quite tough.

Did you consider the Mini Mirrors (or Rover 75 for that matter), both are very similar style oval mirrors which would be very cheap second hand and new parts probably not near the M Coupe's similar shaped mirror.

I personally don't really rate then, a squidgy soft tyre with not particularly great grip in dry or wet IME. They've always been cheap though, perhaps not that cheap in that size, but always very affordable. I'd prefer to use Hankook V12 EVO in this range, or Goodyear F1 Asy2 for about £90.
