I'm not sure and its probably not this but worth a quick check anyway - disconnect the MAF sensor. A faulty MAF can give either no ability to rev beyond idle or constant cut outs (as if running out of fuel constantly). Its easy to just unplug and will run on a default setting fine without it connec...

Since production stopped a couple of days after my 2.2 on a 52 plate was made in July 2002, the conclusion is that it was hanging around a forecourt somewhere, maybe in order to give it an 03 plate. Nice looking car but a tad pricey... :?

Because you get the cheaper item free, it makes sense to buy two at the same price, so I bought a couple of Autoglym soft top cleaning kits at £19.99 for the pair. :) Bound to get used up with the birds around here having chronic diarrhoea. :?

My diff (2002 2.2 Sport with LSD) has a slight whine on the over-run which lessens as it warms up. It has done only 32000 miles so wear is hopefully not a factor. Maybe I'll follow this advice and do mine too... :|

Mohair sounds nice and plush but frankly I'd rather have a nice inert synthetic like acrylic or polyester, with suitable UV stabilisation, which will resist the rigours of the UK weather rather better than goat hair. Yes I know goats live outside but they're growing new hair all the time! :wink:

Yes that's the case but resetting it doesn't make it entirely like a cable operated throttle. You turn on to the position before 'start' ( II ), wait 30 seconds, turn off and wait a further 30 seconds, and then start. The improvement is palpable but not enough... :head:

I take it then Titan that ours does have a CDV? I am sceptical about the benefit of the braided hose, but can see why a delay valve is undesirable. Thanks Frank, they're useful. I didn't know about the clutch switch but will have a look when I feel like the struggle under the dash! :| My son has a Z4M Coupe and his is driving him mad too so it'll be a mass CDV excision soon. :wink:

Is there a way of lubricating the sealing 'lips' that run fore and aft along the top of the door, especially the outside, and through which the window passes? Any application of lubricant is liable to smear the window, so what the general wisdom? :?:

I have a 2.2 sport...the difference is quite simple....its when you sit at the traffic lights on red, hood down, and rev that sweet straight six to the point of a small smile on your face, and then you release the clutch and let all those horses pull your face into the biggest smile in the world......
