Good write up RichP. After much deliberation on what to go for, I have just ordered the same one this afternoon and before I read this. I am somewhat relieved there is nothing in your write up that tells me I've made the wrong decision. Cheers

My wife does when driving alone - they don't like being overtaken by a woman in a sports car- mind you she does provoke it. ............I know when I was looking at a Supersprint back box with 76mm tail pipes there wasn't much room for the tailpipes to move when hot as stainless steel has a tendency to expand. Sorry not in your neck of the woods to recommend anybody.
However, they are very easy to `service' yourself with only basic mechanical knowledge required. A lot of the checking for `wear' items on the service list are covered by the MOT anyway.

Steve,
I bought the BMTechnics based on recommendations from other guys on this forum and am very pleased with it. If you email chris@bmtechnic.co.uk with your requirements - he is very helpful.
The full package is heavy on memory usage but you can install/un-install modules as required.

BM Technics OBDII package is good and easy to load/use but as you say it does use a lot of memory. However, you do not have to load all the modules to carry out most of the items you will need. You can also install/de-install as you require. For example I took SSS Progman back out and it released 21...

If they had any diagnostic gear plugged in without a charge from engine idling or a separate charger connected then that will drain a battery amazingly quickly (voice of recent experience).
The moral is sound as long as it's not at dealers where a replacement battery will cost a fortune.
