If you're in Wakefield and are prepared to look at Doncaster/Barnsley/Leeds, then presumably the north side of Sheffield would be OK for you (no more than 15 minutes from M1 junction 36). I can thoroughly recommend Shaw Motors Ltd, Loxley Road, Malin Bridge, Sheffield S6 4YE (tel 0114 234 7604). Loo...

I was soooo annoyed that I had to miss this, especially as it was literally on my doorstep. Count me in for the next one. I see from one of the pics (with Stu's car parked beneath the sign) that you had a lunch or coffee stop at the Plough Inn at Fadmoor. I know it well. I had to make do with a quic...

It really is great to be back - for me, in more ways than one. I mean, I leave you all to it for a month or so while I swan off to New Zealand and Australia and what happens? Disaster! Greetings from Down Under
After three days in Singapore, my wife and I arrived in Christchurch, New Zealand, yesterday after our second overnight flight in five days. I saw only one Z4 in Singapore, but as soon as I left the hotel this morning I saw an immaculate bright red Z3 2.8 coming towards us.

Anyway, having got back on line, I'm now going offline for around a month! I'm leaving in around two hours' time for New Zealand and Australia, flying out from Heathro...

Welcome to the forum, from an ex-Donny lad and fellow 2.8 owner - mine's a pre-facelift (April 1999), in Arctic silver (I presume yours is Titanium) with tanin leather, but I have the same wheels as you. Very nice too. As the owner of a 1999 silver 2.8, I am tempted by the chrome radiator grille, the mesh bumper grille and the colour coded number plate surround and foglight cut-out. Did you have your original kidney grille professionally chromed, or was it a new part which came ready chromed? Where ...

Welcome, Borka26. You won't regret getting a 1999 2.8 - I've had mine from brand new (April '99), and I've absolutely loved every minute of ownership (mind you, I'd already been a BMW owner for 20 years when I bought the Zed, so I knew roughly what I was getting myself into). I've had virtually no p...

As the ‘keeper’ (none of us strictly ‘own’ our numbers) of two cherished registration numbers which don’t need to be mis-spaced, misrepresented or doctored in any way, I admit that I am probably biased, but I would just like to add my thoughts to this discussion. Touching on a point I raised in my post about Haynes manuals, I am seeking advice from those who know about these things in relation to single/double Vanos. I wouldn't dream of leaving my Zed parked for more than a minute or so with the hood down. I suppose it depends just where you are - in a dodgy urban area or, say, out in the country somewhere. The movement sensor inside the cockpit seems to work quite well, but apart from the chance of getting some...

I think the Z3 is more likely to become a classic in years to come than the Z4. Whether the Z3 or the Z4 is the better design is obviously a matter of personal preference (I much prefer the Z3 but then I would, wouldn't I?), but the Z3 is as retro as the Z4 is modern, and therefore I think is more l...
