As is was a very wet and rainy I went to borrow the local kwik-flit ramps to have a look under the car. not bracket problems and the cat rattles like a bag of spanners when poked. Alfie, Thanks. I checked on the web and ZA does stand for South Africa. If the column is destination I guess my car never actually got there then. South Africa officially drives on the Left with RHD cars so it seems to fit. My experience, however, is south africans tend to drive in the shadier side ...

Sorry to hear this. I had the same problem, they stole them off my car which was parked in my carport 100ft from the road. I left it a while and then took my dog for a walk across the local park where I located the 14 yr old scum who had them on his and a friends bike !!! Marched him and his mate of...

Has anyone had the problem of the black trim around the front window getting stretched and creased at the top corners of the window. Mine has donethis onthe passengers side and the small ripple buzzes at 93MPH which is very very annoying. Can they be replaced or should I just go for the a new chrome...

The hotel is actually in turners hill so not in the dodgy parts of Crawley
Its not bad either. The pubs in turners hill are also very good.

Sorry to hear you are having to stay in Crawley. Its worse than they say, believe me. Make sure you park in the hotel carpark under the lighting. Plenty of chavs in various areas late at night. For a pub try the 'funny fox' on the road out north to Leigh. Good food and the barmaid is a sweetie. Fail...

Brake Warning Light
I had the same issue. Basically it was that the sensor also gets screwed when the pad wear is sufficient to activate it. I was advised to always change the sensor at the same time as the pads and they are pretty cheap anyhow and just plug in. You also might inspect the ABS sensor for wear at the sam...

We have taken the Zed to France numerous times and camped. Note the size of the frame tent we use. Space is never a problem. horses for courses
I agree with Shminky as I have a 1991 MX5 1.6 and a '99 2.8 Z3.
Z3 for longer runs as its far more comfortable.
MX-5 for the twisty stuff as its like a gokart round the bends.

Just replaced all discs and pads as brake wear light was on. no probs replacing wear sensors front and back and the light went straight off. Waiting 1 week sounds like dodgy advice. £9.47 per sensor incl VAT at Redhill BMW.

I had the same problem and you can get the catch parts easily they just fix with a couple of screws. Check however if the problem is the dash slipping a little and try to realign the glove boxdoor if so.

dodgy roof operation
Hi. I had a similar probelm. Its invariably the small switch up in the rook bars on the passenger side. Very easy to replace. Get a new one from any BMW garage. To check this is the case, short out the two wires that go to it and I suspect the roof will operate ok. You can try cleaning the little sw...

I have a rack bolted into the boot. Possible to mount a bike on it but only lying it on its side. Anything else produces too much front/back twist that as you say tries to rip the rack off the boot. Would not recommend it. You need to keep the centre of gravity of the bike low to avoid the twisting ...

cracks like you suggest never really mend well. A new screen is inevitable. However, try putting a pice of plastic tape behind the crack and then inject plastic adhesive into the crack using a syringe. This avoids spills on the outside. When set remove the backing plastic. Should hold for a while. S...

Interesting that others have the same alarm problems. My Z3 2.8 used to do exactly the same with the alarm going off as and whenever it liked. The problem on mine was the switch in the bonnet. Bought Z3 2.8, drove it for 3 weeks, transfered to Nigeria for 18 months but back now. So we went driving in France. Got stopped by le Gendarmes who will happily take you to the cashpoint to pay the 90 euro fine for being just slightly over the limit. Tried arguing that I was overtaking a 40ft lorry...
