The error code could be showing that the sensor is reading out of range rather than the sensor itself has failed. There have been quite a few similar cases where the fault has been traced to splits/breaks in the inlet hoses between the MAF and the throttle body allowing unmetered air into the intake...

I know that quite a few people have had problems with mice ( and rats ) nesting in their engine bays but nobody has yet suggested installing a cat as the solution :D

Neither the Sachs nor Bilstein B4 catalogue shows a shock absorber for the Z3 3.0. Bilstein just show a B6 shock against the 3.0. Because of the weight and performance of the car, I suspect you may be in a similar category to the Z3M. I guess you need to price up the BMW OE against something like t...

New shocks shouldn't change the ride height as that is governed by the springs rather than the shocks.

I replaced my rears with Sachs Sports Touring shocks that are basically the same as OEM.

Hi and welcome. The same thing happened to me 3 weeks after I bought the Z3 and it was a failed thermostat - at least they fail in the open position so the engine runs cold. +1, where suspension or brakes are concerned I would always do the pair. If I am right, the BMW parts come as a pair, so you don't get the choice! Cheers R.
