Not as envious as I am of your rear lights and little lip spoiler - both of which look spot-on.

A sort of slightly furry/fuzzy dark grey/black material not totally unlike acoustic carpet - sort of like the stuff that the door pockets of expensive luxury cars are lined with?

Lights and speakers sound nice. I just wish the rear heated window on mine would work (must be a connection issue)!

Yes, in 2005 you could still get the hardtop and mountings from Wiesmann, because I looked into this (I wanted to know how much one would cost if I bought a Z1 without it rather than buying one with it).

I used to really want a purblau Z1 but now (whisper the heresy) I'm not sure I think the colour suits the Z1 that much.

I'm glad no-one ordered Magic Violet with the red leather - that might have been altogether too much.

Totally agree re the lifting nose thing.

Have just driven my Alfa out to Moscow from London, and I must admit I'm enjoying the fact that 98-octane fuel is 20 roubles per litre here. That's around 40p per litre! Suddenly I'm not so fussed anymore about the car's shocking urban fuel consumption!

Thanks for the tip. My Z does this in cold weather with the hardtop on - evidently the seals contract and cause the door to think there is an obstruction.

Does anyone know how/where to get the seals replaced on a hardtop?

That's very dumb! I've looked into the train before (I needed to get a 1965 Fiat 500 from Menton to London) but it always seems to be mega-expensive (nearer 450 quid than 250 quid) which put me off when using a proper car.
