Re: finally get to drive my z3 tomorrow.
I'd say just watch your right foot when coming out of corners at first, being rear wheel drive it'll behave quite differently from a front wheel drive KA - if you boot it out of a corner the back end will quite happily slide out which certainly takes you by surprise the first time it happens! After ...

Re: I Think I've Found my Zed
The standard Z3 wheels are between ET35 and ET45 depending on which wheels they are, so ET20 + 20mm spacers will indeed take them to correct offset (or close enough, within 5mm). Why wouldn't they sit flush with the hub?

Not having a go mate just pointing out the facts to someone new who doesn't know what they're looking at. I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling these as they're popular due to not having to go to the expense of replacing all of the rear trim etc.

If I remember correctly the E39 wheels have a much lower offset than those of the Z3, so fitment could possibly be an issue. Can't hurt to try though.

You can check the MOT history with the vehicle registration and a MOT test number. You'll see all advisories, fails and passes up to that date of that particular MOT certificate being issued. I'd give him a ring and ask for the current MOT test number if you've got doubts. http://motinfo.direct.gov....

I think the part about the needle staying central until the engine gets very hot is probably correct, I've read that the Z3 temperature needle scale is weighted so that it's central even when it's hotter or colder than the optimal operating temperature, as long as it's in a pre-defined range. 119c d...

Unless you've got a -very- early Z3 (pre Jan 1997) you should be able to retro fit roll hoops.
