Wet boot will almost definitely be caused by the third brake light, the seal around it perishes and lets water in. If you search the forum you'll find a couple of threads about it, new gasket is only a few quid.

I think that'd be a good idea, or even go for something more fancy such as the PHPBB3 Classifieds mod: http://phpbb3hacks.com/modifications.ph ... lassifieds
It'd be a departure from the norm, for sure, but it does look like a great mod - maybe worth looking into?

Take a look at this link for a breakdown of the different engines available for Z3s: http://users.belgacom.net/bmw_z3/bmw_z3_engines.htm Ignore the 2.5 as that wasn't available in the UK. The only thing you'll need is a socket set with quite a few extensions - the nut on the balljoint in the middle of the control arm is reached from above, but there's very little access, so you need to thread a socket down from above. Does this apply to the 6 cyl - doesnt seem to be a lot of room? I...

The bracket on the belt side is part of every Z3 made after 1996 (all except the very first ones) and means that your car is suitable for fitting roll hoops. One thing you could try is holding down the red light/button on next to the heating controls after turning the ignition off, this disables the interior sensors. You'll have to do this every time you park up for the night but you'll at least be able to rule those out.
