Ebay is currently showing about ten Z3 3.0 for sale. All under £8,000.
They are all described as "lovely" but are not mint, or have over 100,000 miles. The money will always be there for the best examples of any older car.

Re: Gearbox Oil? - Arrrh!
There was a long "what gearbox oil" thread on here a couple of years ago. The Castrol oil works well in the Z3 gearbox. It made my gear change a fair bit smoother than it had been. Castrol formulated the oil to be a direct replacement for BMW oils. I am sure that other oils will be satisfa...

Cost to replace clutch
The clutch needs replacing on my Z3 3.0.
BMW quoted me £750. What's the going rate for a new clutch? My local garage says they can do it, but they haven't done one before and l am not sure l want them to practise on mine.
I am tempted to let BMW do it, but how far over the odds is that price?

That failure list isn't too bad, it's all bits and pieces nothing serious. It does show that "on the street" the prices for a Z3 3.0 are still reasonable. I'm fed up with the continuous price rises on classic cars. Every advert seems to say "prices for these are only going one way&quo...

A main dealer will achieve higher prices.
A private sale will probably achieve about half what Sytner sell Z3's for. Prices are on the rise though, as with many older cars. I sold my Ferrari Mondial t in 2011 for £18,000. The same model sells now at £45,000.....sigh.

But still, FIFTEEN THOUSAND for a Z3. And that 2.8 was thirteen l think. They're overtaking the Z4 on values!
The Z4 never did it for me, Z3 has character and classic looks. The Z4 is technically better in every way on paper but that doesn't always mean a better car.

Interesting that the BMW main dealer has started selling Z3's. As said, normally they would be far too old for a main dealer to consider. Wow £15,000 for a Z3 3.0
Shows that the values have turned on these. I guess £8500 is fair as they'll probably spend £1-2,000 getting it prepped and then there's the overheads etc. But still a nice earner.

Low mileage, best engine (apart from the M 3.2 of course) low owners, good colour with nice interior colour, M Sport package.....It's worth £10-12,000 especially as it's the M Sport version.
