sytners would do a "smart repair" on the alloy. I had this done before. They litterally just repair and repaint/laquer the effected area on the alloy and not the entire wheel.

I would highly recommened the wheel specialist francise for having a full refurb.

Fuel / airflow = The first thing I thought of was a faulty mass air flow meter. If it is reading wrong then that could throw up an error like you describe. Hi everyone. I'm guessing my Z3 should have a plastic tray under the engine that fixes to the underbody. My car doesnt have a tray under the engine and I have failed to find a part no. or further info on getting one apart from visiting a main dealer. Any help that can be supplied in terms of a part ...

Here was the print out from chipped uk when I had it mapped. the only difference since is the simota has been fitted. I would like to get it on a rolling road to see what it is all done.

figures.... around town (short stop start 6 mile round journey) sensible acceleration, judging braking and roundabout to keep flowing etc. 26-28mpg put the foot down around town and it drops to low 20's dual carriageway run at 60mph is 32-34mpg. I find by going to 70mph it drops 1-2mpg on A roads cr...

If you ever go for an induction kit get a Simota, they are meant to be the best. Si 8-) I recently bought a simota from simon and fitted it to my 1998 2.8. Sounds like the classic central locking door actuator failed. Obviously check the fuses etc first. If they value it as non repairable then they are mad. I'm sure that you could get a third party to sort it out. Source the spares and get it fixed.

Today I have driven from Newport, South Wales. To the gates of Silverstone. Then down to Aylesbury Bucks, past Oxford then back to South Wales. On the entire journey I didnt see one single Z3 or Z4 until I got back home and one was driving into the local Tesco. Where have you all been hiding today????

Lambda sensors possibly. I had one go a few years back.

A fuel line & injector cleaner in the tank and a good blast to blow off the cobwebs will do no harm.

Also make sure the car was really warmed up for the test (common issue with m.o.t centres at the moment)

It could well be the slip ring on the steering wheel. That can make a creek/squeal noise when turning the wheel. My car has it at the moment. I'm just waiting for a good enough chance to take the airbag out and take the wheel off and cleen/lubricate it.

looking at your figures the second test they come right down. the lambda is within the min - max of 0.970 -1.030 so I would rule out the lambda sensor. Because of the drop I would think that maybe the car wasnt warmed up sufficently enough. The first thing I would do is check basics like the air fil...

you hit the nail on the head with the actuator problem. I have the same issue at the moment. I bought a second hand actuator but have not got around to fitting it yet. Its meant to be a pig of a job.

The //M wheels will fit but they will stick out from the arches (illegal and mot faliure) the back axle on //M cars is a different size to all other Z3's...so basicly...NO The roll hoops, possible try a BMW breaker but make sure you get all the bits and plastic covers etc. Price...I have no idea but...

I would recommend these guys. I used my local branch and the service was excellent. I know a few others on this forum have used this company.

sounds like the classic ICV (Idle control vale) issue.
