Excellent - thanks for sorting this out!
Could those that are planning on using this option please contact me via PM or email so that we can go over in one or two groups rather than 1 by 1 please?

I've put a question in to Ivor regarding a possible secondary meeting point more suited to those coming up the M1 from the south - if anyone else is interested in this please make yourself heard.

Re: Shock time
I don't think rusting rear springs are grounds for an MOT fail, at least not until they break. Which is unlikely to happen now if it hasn't happened yet. Not sure if factory springs are still available. I think there are Spax springs available for the later cars. Eibach springs for the Z1 went out o...

Re: Help - My car is cracking up!
If you haven't already done so you might wish to drill a small hole (1-2mm) at the current end of the crack to prevent is propagating further. I have an article from Michael from a few years ago and he mentions the cause being a mix of the elastic compounds in the wing material having evaporated ove...

Re: Z1 Gearbox Oil
In 1998 my 325is would have great difficulty going into 2nd gear in the winter time - it was as though there was a bar across the 2nd gear gate. The requisite amount of MTL later and the car dropped into 2nd when cold as though the box was warm. Night and day difference.

You don't need to be a BMW CC member - have a look at http://marketing.michelin.co.uk/buynow/ Max voucher value is 50 quid for 2 tyres but if you need 4 just get the 2nd pair bought under a different name.

Ah yes, the colour of adrenaline is brown... Reminds me of a joke... Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the sea, a captain and his crew were always in danger of being boarded by pirates from a pirate ship. One day while they were sailing, they saw that a pirate ship had sent a boarding party to try ...

Runflats requires a special rim that has a "shoulder" to support the bead should pressure be lost. Very few tyre shops will fit run flats to conventional rims because of the risk/liability.

Re: New Wheels
The EIbach springs for the Z1 went out of production for a while and then it seems EIbach built some more in perhaps 2010. I bought a set in early 2011 - at the time Eibach in Germany said they had 5 sets in stock. Those are probably long gone but it might be worth a call to Eibach UK to see if they...

I have a vague recollection that in some European countries people were forced to register previously unregistered Z1s because emission regulations were getting tighter and it was no longer possible to register "old" cars after a certain date. That could be problematic with this car, at le...

No, the Z1 is too old for OBD. It has a diagnostic connector in the engine compartment for a BMW specific diagnostic tool.

The tabs in the panel that hold the switches are quite fragile - be v careful swapping out the switches lest you need to replace the panel as well.

It all smells a bit funny. First there's the similarity in the ads. And the winning bidder of the first set of wheels has a feedback rating of 1...
