Yes there is a drain plug, the refill plug is a bit awkward to get to, so find a length of tubing to run to the engine bay from the gearbox, then a cheap funnel to help direct the oil. Make sure you can undo the refil plug before draining the gearbox.

Best you can do is check carefully all the wiring and particularly the connectors. If need be, unplug them (ignition off first!) and clean the connectors with a contact cleaner which you can get from Maplins or most likely Amazon/Ebay.
