Alarm de-activated, how to get it back??
Went to my garage last weekend to check up on the Z The battery was flat, except for enough juice to put on the interior light. So, simple, remove battery take home and trickle charge. Well, not quite. The alarm goes off as soon as the battery is disconnected. Got the jump leads and unlocked it prop...

Re: Window drop with hood operation ?
Mmm, looks like I didnt think that through fully lol, of course it wouldn't work because of the hood micro switch !! Thanks Ian for the wiring guide and link. It appears that the same door latch is common between the coupe and roadster so, theoretically, if the signal wire could be found, it could p...

I have an electric hood and as per the hand book instructions drop the windows before operating it, but im sure ive seen some Z's doing it automatically? Is it a later software, and if so is it possible to upgrade? Regards Gor...

Best Vanos repair kit ?
So, Ive had the Z for a week and a half now and put lots of happy miles on it, however, it is displaying all the symptoms of Vanos failure, not rattling, but poor performance under 3k, and a pronounced 'hic up' as you pull away. Original owner had the inlet cam position sensor changed, ive found the...

Re: Buzz topz any opinions?
Hi, The Buzztop cover has been 'discussed to death' in previous posts, if you do a search on this site for the thread you can read and arrive at your own conclusion. I had a friend who bought one and it faded terribly and left black marks on the paintwork, admittedly they left it on unused for a le...

Re: Z3 purchase. Pros & Cons?
WOW huge response, thanks to every one that responded. Lots more info to peruse. Recon on a post 2000 car, 2.2,2.8 or 3.0. - I think that's right, im still a little rusty on the aray of engine choices. Vanos seems to be the Achilles heel. Which were single and which were twin ? Easy fix ? Thanks for...

Z3 purchase. Pros & Cons?
First post on this Forum so 'Hello' I was pointed in this direction on the BMWland forum (my current car is an E61 ) as I am looking at getting a Z3 for 'nice days' use. I've had the 2.2 suggested as a decent choice but is the 2.0 that much different? I don't think I need to go for a 2.8/3.0 Any com...
