They are brown / bronze. I paid £90 for my Black/black ones which are the most popular hence full price. However, I thought these were a real bargain and like my others so much I have ordered some, great for just leaving in the car. I looked at the SpeedCat version (the future cats are the newer rep...

Final Drive unit failure - Differential bracket
I know this issue is well documented but I thought would give an update for all those with cars outside of the BMW warranty and high mileage. I picked up my Z3m a few weeks ago. I was aware of the spot weld telltale re the diff bracket problem and had inspected these before purchase and all seemed f...

Due to the often hilerious and sometimes embarrasing discussion regarding driving gloves http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19260&highlight= I thought it would be worth highlighting a great bargain for some driving shoes. If you don't need track day performance but just a great pair ...

Wikipedia is amazing .za is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for South Africa. It is administered by the ZADNA. None of the official names for South Africa can be abbreviated to ZA, which is an abbreviation of the Dutch Zuid-Afrika. This is a legacy of when Dutch was an official la...

I think that you have be more than patient. I would contact BMW customer service on customer.service@bmw.co.uk. I locked my keys in the boot of my S class last summer at the local golf club. Mercedes told me this was not possible which you could imagine I was rather argumentative about having all my mates rolling around the floor laughing at me. Eventually they agreed to send over a tachnician who could get i...

didn't realise we had a pro in the house :D To be honest I have been doing some research into all this detailing stuff (I never realised there was so much to it and always wondored how the dealers got such a nice finish :dunce: I was intending to try a clay bar myself and the other stages. Do I real...

The x3 M badges on my 2000 roadster (side gills and boot) have really faded, especially the red which looks a rather pink for my liking now  Did some research on tinternet and found this to be a common problem. The yanks of course have come up with the ingenious idea of using nail varnish :dun...

I have just bought the official Z£ outdoor cover from my local dealer. Cost was about £114 + VAT. I ordered over the phone on Monday and was ready for collection on Wednesday. The fit is superb to my Z3m as I guess it should be. Its so good that I doubt it could blow off (I will probably see it go f...

My brother has just bought a 56 plate Z4m with 12k on the clock from a main dealer in Manchester for £18k. Was on the forcourt for £23k! It is absolutely mint with every extra (and I mean every) bar the TV + individual cream leather and matching trimmed mats. Even has 2 brand new tyres on the rear f...

Well the sun has been out this weekend so could not resist my first blast around the north west. Managed to convince my girlfriend that it was 10 degrees as the sun was out. Didn't help that the air temp was showing -10 lol. Dealer phoned me on Friday to say sensor had been posted so will have to ge...

I know, I love silver cars, some people think its a boring colour but I think its timeless. Keep driving around now looking for other Z3m's. I see quite a few Z3 around but never seen another M. My brother has the Z4m but prefer the retro style of the older one 8-) Where abouts in Cheshire are you, ...

I know thats why I emailed him to confirm. He does not have the mounting kit which you need installed on your car to actually allow you to mount the roof. He does however have all the parts which come with the roof ie bolts, tools, instructions. I am no expert in these things and have never actually...

eBay Z3 Hardtop £50
Found this on eBay.Looks remarkably cheap. Emailed the seller who confirmed all tools / bolts /instructions included. Was tempted as I have the mounting kit installed on mine. Decided to give it a miss as i) wrong colour (or would black and silver work - no 8-) ii) I only have the Z for pleasure use...

Thanks for this. At least the dealer could tell you where it was, mine couldn't. Am getting the part posted over by the garage I bought the car from. Thought it would be cheaper to fit myself than 200 mile round trip.
Is it easy to get the trim off and replace or should I leave it to my next service?

Saw this on eBay having read that it is a worthwhile upgrade so thought I would buy on to be fitted on my next service. Seems good value for money? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Z3M-ROADSTER-STAINLESS-CLUTCH-HOSE-UPGRADE-EARLS_W0QQitemZ170293919418QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?has...

Obviously the increased acceleration means it needs to be more accurate - not! Good news anyway, the dealer I bought from offered to replace striaght away. I aked if they could send me the part to save me a 200 mile round trip (and wait) and they have agreed. They have just phoned to say part ordere...

a tyre shop should be able to fix for about £10. They will do it there and then if they aren't too busy. The only time I have had problems is if the screw is in the side wall - they don't like fixing these as weekens the tyre or with run flats especially ZR rated which they are not allowed to repair...

New Z3m Owner
:D well just bought my first Z3m. Have been looking around for a convertable as a 2nd car since last summer. I had the chance to use a Z3 1.9 for a weekend last summer and really liked the car but felt the 1.9 was underpowered for what I was looking for so decided to wait until this year. The long x...
