In case anyone was also flummoxed, my friend Google tells me a "hardy disc" is disc-shaped flexible coupling which I am guessing, in the case of the Z1, connects the transmission to the torque tube....

Re: Wanted a metallic Z1
The Z1 comes in six factory colours: Four metallics: Dream Black, Primordial Green, Pure Blue and Magic Violet. Two non-metallics: Top red and fun yellow. The most common colours are red, green and black. The other three are pretty rare. The Dream Black has quite a prounced blue/green tinge to it. P...

Re: Source for a new wing?
Finally got the car back today, albeit still with a slightly loose front wing as the new one is still AWOL in the BMW back order system. Front bumper looks spotless and it's great to have it back. Took advantage of it going into the bodyshop to finally have the horrible old Belgian dealer badge that...

The bodyshop has repaired and repainted the front bumper for me and I should get the car back today or tomorrow with the old wing still in situ. Then we'll just wait for the new wing to turn up from BMW and, when it does, I'll drop the car back down to them for the new wing to be fitted.

This was timely and helpful. The bodyshop who are repairing the Z1 under the insurance claim rang BMW this morning who confirmed to them that a new batch of wings were coming in. Accordingly they were able to order one, but BMW were not yet able to give an ETA for delivery.

It seems BMW is clean out of new OE front wings - I missed the last one by mere days. Anyone got any tips on how to source one? I need an off-side (ie passenger side) one as it seems the impact with the taxi has cracked/snapped all the mounting points (the other front wing is fine).

No problem. Hope you get it sorted.
Getting mine delivered back by ML to my office in the City tomorrow. Was a bad contact which was all sorted f.o.c.
If you're London-based, it's worth noting that they offer a collection and delivery service - it's a bit of schlepp otherwise.

My Z1's become quite unpleasant to drive lately with the back feeling loose and skittish, particularly over broken surfaces and there was a noticeable judder on the steering between 55 and 65mph (although not below that or above it). Yes, engine from E30 325i but chassis is bespoke. Servicing and day-to-day running costs are pretty low, as is classic insurance. Best if services annually regardless of mileage and cambelt should be changed every 4 years along with the tensioner. As regards cars currently for sale, Dick Lovett have...
