I put the hood up whenever I leave the car. Saves the upholstery from the sun and helps to stop the temptation to damage or steal. I still leave any valuables out of sight or locked in the glove box or cubby boxes though.

Have a 3.0 with power hood but NEVER leave it down when the car is out of site or not using it. Nothing kills the upholstery quicker than sunlight and evening damp. I was informed by my local stealer that some models were wired for and some were not. Depending on which market they were for. Mine was not.
It would pay to have that checked out by your local agent before going any further.

Silicon travels a long way when sprayed anywhere. The overspray can go for many metres. The areas affected, (should say infected) should be washed down with a silicon thinner/cleaner. Then wiped aggressivly with a solvent containing toluine or similar. Then before painting, the area should be sanded...

Interesting view of drilled side inner sills and front and rear quarter inner panels. Front chassis rails probably finish at the front bulkhead. Any more pics of inner body parts anywhere. Could be usefull to members as the cars get older and need TLC.
