Oil temperature takes longer than water temperature to reach optimum.
So dont think that because the water temperature gauge has optimised the engine is ready to be thrashed. It takes a few more miles to be OK

There is a sequence of oilservice, inspection 1, oil service, inspection 2
Costs depend on dealer labour rates and main dealer versus independant.
Main dealer around £120 for oil service £300 for inspection 1 £500 for inspection 2
Huge variances though

Hood

You have to release the clips then push up the hood slightly and fold it then, with foot on the brake, press the button.
To put the hood up its foot on the brake, press the button and when almost closed you pull the hood in position and fold the clips in.

Have you tried BMW insurance?
I have an M Roadster and found they were very competitive.
It surprised me because they weren't as good for our 323 saloon.
