Morse code noise at high speed?
I tickled the gas tonight on a nice piece of dual carriageway. Nothing lairy, more acceleration than top end and just over 3000 revs and 70ish mph heard a sound like that which ET makes? 3 notes eeee, orrrrr, eeee, aaaaaa..... My first reaction was that it was a squeaky seat so I wound her up again ...

Thanks chaps. 8-) The reason for considering keyclamps..... http://www.alvinkeyclamps.co.uk/images/Banners/Alvin-Key-Clamp-grouped.gif ...is that I have some of them and some tubing already. I'm also very restricted on space so need something barely bigger than the car. Primarily because it's parked...

I know it's not exactly the time of year to be asking this but days turn into weeks turn into months so........ I don't have a garage and therefore need to accomodate Zeddy in the best possible conditions. Favourite at the moment is to build a tubular structure a fraction taller, longer, wider than ...

'Finish Kare'.....anybody tried this?
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/images/uploads/finishkare_425_1.jpg Leaves the finish so slick that it Eliminates the need for constant washing. Excellent for use on paint, glass, chrome, gel coat, fiberglass and plexiglass. The best QD i have used by a HUGE margin. Leaves a very slick and wet look a...

Hissing noise on start up?
A few weeks ago I sat with engine idling and every 10 seconds or so heard a hissing sound coming from somewhere under the car. My neighbour who was standing alongside said it sounds like the Aircon releasing a bit of pressure and sure enough after switching it off the noise dissappeared. However, wh...

Agree with the above. Wheels are definately an accquired taste. Not for me :( Your Pistonheads ad has too many distractions. Thanks all. I was only 20 miles from home when the red light came on and found a garage quite quickly. Nice to know for future reference. I did run out of petrol a few years back when driving a Ford Escort with an old style floating guage. It was 1.30 in the morning and a passing motorist stopped to...

Went to go out in the Zed tonight but it was blocked in by daughters KA which wouldn't start. :( Clicking sound from the engine and the Speedo hand waggles rapidly back and forth a few mm making a sound like a trapped moth! Split rim refurb........
My wheels aren't too bad but I may get them refurbished in due course as the outer rims are losing a bit of paint. I'm assuming a full refurb will mean them being unbolted sorted and being put back together? If so can the outer rims be chromed and has anybody done this before? My zed is silver with ...

Thought i'd give the split rims a decent clean but shops shut so I Googled home made remedies for car cleaning and found a Mercedes forum that suggested using cold Tea! I had a similar situation driving down the A12 one night.
