Shame.
Still it's not a bad photo - shows hardtop v softtop well! And it makes the standard wheels on mine look inadequate!
Cheers!

Cool - finally had my chassis number to hand and discovered that, despite now sporting a black leather interior, originally (as Jet guessed from the dark green leather on the dash) my car had a lemon yellow interior! It was built in November 1990 and had the following spec: SA 282 : Light alloy whee...

So just wondering does everyone else have a complete change of driving character when the rain comes down?? Not a complete change, but certainly a degree more caution. T...

Black Russian
Was really very, very surprised to happen on a black Z1 wearing Russian plates parked on a side street here in Moscow. Somehow didn't think there'd be any here since it's not like you see too many Z3s or Z4s. Rather smart - had a dark red leather interior. Not seen that before. I'll be even more sur...

This so happened to me last time I was in the UK. I was in roadworks on the Northern section of the M25 when the road split into a contraflow. It was a nice day and I was doing 30mph (heavy traffic) so I had the doors down as well as the roof. I was aware that a guy in a blue Vectra VXR had been gaw...

Mechanism for shutting passenger door?
Has anyone done or seen done a modification which would permit you to close the passenger-side door whilst driving without leaning across the cabin? Ie a switch on the centre console or somesuch similar? At 5"10, I can only just reach the passenger side handle from the driver's seat and have to...

If it got the full Lorenz treatment it could have included the 2.7 conversion and LSD. Does it have a front strut brace? They included that as well ... That should take it to around 7 secs (not the strut brace that is :D ) No, there's no front strut brace. And I would have though that if it was a 2...

Z1 performance.
The Z1 is usually slated as slow and the 0-60 time is listed as 7.9secs but I'm wondering what other's views on this is? Mine has always felt perkier than that (it's supposed to be standard apart from the exhaust) and indeed yesterday I dragged it against a friend who'd just bought an Audi A3 2.0T (...

Green Z1 on Putney Bridge
Was delighted, on Saturday morning, to pass a matching H-reg green Z1 going the other way on Putney Bridge. First time I've ever passed another Z1. Lots of friendly waving from the people inside - a man and a pretty blonde.
Was it you?

Yup - can't imagine why you'd want to shut the door! London was obviously crawling with Z1s at the weekend. Concur with the S3 suggestion. I had one before the Z1 and it was a perfect all-round car for someone without a family. Very tunable too. I also have an Allroad and it's a pretty strong contender for the practicality award, esp if unlike me (!) you got the economical 2.5TDi. They are really very cap...

Any temp provided the scarf and coat are warm enough. The heater is surprisingly effective. It needs to be above 20 degrees though for it to be bearable with the doors down as well. Managed 80 with the doors and roof down last weekend - s'pretty windy and requires the wearing of close-fitting wrap-r...

Good tip from Harris about not touching anything red! I like it. Since I am thin and have long legs in proportion to my overall height, I find it easy to hop in and out, but most people don't. With the roof on, I tend to use the edge of the windscreen and the side of the door opening to lever myself...

Go for the green one! I had a choice of black and green when I bought and, while Dream Black is very nice (and usually my preferred car colour), I find the green really shows off the styling best of all. I get loads of compliments on the colour. I envy you living and having a Z1 in Sardegna! I was s...

Ok the problem seems to have solved itself. When my mate went back yesterday to have another try, it was working again. Afternoon All, I'm thinking of fitting a new stereo in the Z and wondered if anyone had any recommendations. I'm after something that won't look out of place in the instrument panel (i.e. simple display & design, probably black finish, minimum number of buttons) and will connect straight to my ...
