Re: Wobbly door mirror

Hi Bladerunner, its deftinately the housing and not the glass, gives the impression that something in the foot / base needs to be tightened up?

Re: Tyres or steering

If the car has just passed its MOT (l know the garage and they are very strict) wouldn't they have detected any wear in the steering / bushes / wishbones / balljoints if it was sufficient to be affecting the steering?

Squeaky pads / anti-squeal plates

One other annoying niggle with my Z3 2.8 is a high pitched 'squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak' from front wheels, more noticeable at slower speeds and this only appears when putting very slight right hand steering on, take pressure off and it stops instantly. It had new pads and discs last year and has co...

Tyres or steering

I noticed at low speeds my Z3 ban be a little bit susceptible to 'tramlining' on uneven road surfaces or on white lines? I also think sometimes that the steering isn't as 'tight' as it should be and can occasionally feel slightly vague / wanderey? I thought it might just be the fact that it has fat ...

Rear anti-roll bar

Had an annoying metallic / springy / creaking noise coming from the rear OS wheel of my 1999 2.8 and suspected a shock absorber mount to be at fault but all seems okay - jacked it up and used Mr Bar to see if there was any play anywhere else to no avail. Then spotted that the rear anti roll bar has ...

Wobbly door mirror

The driver's door mirror housing on my Z3 has a little bit of left/right play on it causing it to annoyingly 'shake' when on the move (caused by airflow) is this a common fault and more importantly does it have an easy fix?

Thank you

Alan

Re: Z3 audio

The part number for the carrier is 65128361130 and should be about £55 from a dealer. Not sure about availability
Just picked up a secondhand one for £20

Z3 audio

Okay, whilst I love my recently purchased roadster I concur with others that the factory fitted sound system is pretty crap. However, I want to keep the car totally original so I am inclined to think that retaining the original system with the CD multichanger will add value to a vehicle which may we...

Re: ABS warning light

The ABS warning light was on and a diagnostic check showed rear ABS sensor so both were replaced and the problem was solved..... for about a week. Now the warning light comes on about 20 minutes into a drive and at other erratic times This is wierd, this fault now appears to have completely rectifi...

Re: ABS warning light

Just compared the car to the above rear end photos and it is a facelift and it has ASC. Is the yellow ASC/DSC light also on on the dash or just the ABS? They frequently come on together, as there are a lot of common components. The ASC warning light comes on with the ABS lights. Also, when I turn the...

Re: ABS warning light

What is the build date of your car? 1999 could put it either side of the facelift. Or put more simply, does it have an ASC or a DSC button? ASC has less components that you need to look at. Is the yellow ASC/DSC light also on on the dash or just the ABS? They frequently come on together, as there a...

ABS warning light

Hi, new owner / member with a 1999 Roadster 2.8 auto. Just before the car it had a fault which was rectified just prior to purchase.
