Re: New tyres
Thanks Gazza, I will really try to go slowly but it is awfully difficult. +1. I recently fitted new Eagle Asymmetric 2's on the rear and they were downright scary for the first couple of hundred miles. Much worse than the old and very worn Asym 1's I had on there, even in the wet. Now 200-300 miles...

The brackets an covers are there, as is the wiring for the heated window (assuming you already have an electric hood). The bolts are not shown, but they are cheap anyway. It's the brackets and covers that are the expensive bit.
Sadly £175- £200 would be a fare price these days.

It should actually reduce stress, the body is not rolling as much, hence reduced flex, hence less leverage on the joints, it is the weight of the body that adds the stress, the thicker bar would keep it in check, if welds are breaking then the joint is going into shear, and it is not designed this ...

Matt, The document you refer to is really specific to early (pre 10-98) US models. What they are saying in that doc is that cars with the smaller 3 pin connector (power, ground and iBus) had the iBus wire missing. Probably as an oversight since I have not come across a non iBus changer using the sma...

+1, the H&R are about 2x as stiff as the standard and the standard mounts were just not designed to handle the extra stress. No fault of BMW, just a reality.Gazza wrote:I'm not saying it's flimsy, just that the extra thickness of the H&R bars induces much more stress in the mount.

The wiring was bundled up where the cables come into the boot from cabin on the left hand side. If you pull the left carpet away you should see them. I only have the 3 pin and not the larger 2 pin power plug used for the CD Changer A. My previous Z3 (facelift 2.0 model year 2000) did have the larger...

Matt, Welcome. You got it spot on with the mBus versus iBus changers. I did a lot of detective work on this a while back when looking into iPod adapters. Do you mean corroded and making a circuit ? hence no warning light . I meant that all that water may well have got inside the electrical connector and corroded it.
