I replaced mine (some were missing last year), not sure of the part number and neither were BMW. I had to sit at the service desk and point them out on screen. Anyway, they cost less than £10 for the 4.

Fixer, that's a shame about the screens. If you think its your car, have you tried measuring the voltages on the sources that you are connecting to? Might be a good idea to put a multimeter on to check voltage, continuity and any shorts. I suppose it doesnt help when the chinese wiring is a bit susp...

On the recent Wales run, i averaged 23/24 mpg for the weekend. A combination of motorway down there, then typical low gear high revving 2 day cruise, then motorway home. I did the fill up, reset trip counter, fill up method. I thought 23/24 mpg in a 98 ///M is reasonable.

From memory, its 4 alan key bolts to get the cover off (the big one that says M Power :twisted: ) then underneath the cover, you will see them all lined up on an angle. Forgot to say, they are not permanent. Just for the odd time when it needs to be left in a car park. Very easy to fit/refit being magnetic.

I've got the hard top for mine, simply because i have never had one before. It has its pro's and cons. I think the car looks good with it on, and ideal for keeping road noise down etc, nice to have on in the winter. How many?? Hard to say, 150 to 200 BMW and 100-ish porsche. BMW were definitely the majority. It was mostly 3 series, not many alpinas, and not many "pimped". Lots of classics.

I know servicing costs vary from dealer to dealer. But, on average, how much should the difference between an Inspection 1 and Inspection 2 be. Benham want 720 for inspection 2 and 690 for inspection 1, 30 difference. These prices include VAT and Labour and have 10% 4+ discount. I would have thought...

No engine lights, but i remember you saying something about this. It did run shite, but seems ok last night. I am taking it to the menders later so we will see the outcome. He briefly said it could be a cam sensor?? I'll let you know.
