General Tip... Take photos of the damage before it is repaired and immediately after (with dates on the pictures). No they weren't Lambo doors - they hinged on the A pillar. There was a gas strut in the normal hinge position that held the door open.

Men & Motors had a good prog on before ScumBall which had an M3 with hydraulically adjustible suspension and a Fiat Punto with doors that hinged on the A pillar. All those pictures are tame in comparison.

I saw a new MX5 in work's car park today and thought it was a Cappuccino at first.

I think the new MX is about 2 inches too short.

I used to have one. It does fit on so the clips are inboard. This allows you access to the little cubby hole.

It does click forwards (and if memory serves, it also clicks upright and back).

I don't think there is any fault with your wind deflector.
