Definitely a yes from me mate, and not just because it is very local to me ( clocked 15 miles ) but it also supports a local attraction for visitors. We have to start bending Pete and Dave's ears then. A big thank you to those two guys for organising this,my, first meet. Cheers guys.

These can be bad enough but my wife is on her 2nd VW Eos with folding tin top, imagine how many rubber seals there are between all the moving roof and boot lid panels.I bought a small aerosol spray of seal treatment from VW and it cost £45. But it beats a leak . :)

If you do go the aerosol can route for small repairs I highly reccomend Halfords who make them up instore and will tint them to a perfect colour match. It can and will happen to any car with drum type rear brakes be it parking brake OR service brake. Applying some power to make the wheels would appear to be your possible only option. Ps almost forgot, whilst I've been in Florida I bought some chrome replacement bonnet grilles to fit when I get home these will add the finishing touch I hope.these are slightly different shape from the original ones, slightly wider to look more like the Z4 type of style. We shall see.

My car is Oxford Green and has the M tec pack all the chrome goodies including chrome gills which I think look great on my car. Have to agree with Dave, it's not that bad just get it roadworthy and start using and enjoying your Z. Then pick a starting point and gradually make the improvements as you go along.more of a leisurely stroll than a sprint. :)

I think you are on the right track looking at the induction pipes and hoses, also check that you don't have a mouses nest in your air Filter box. I had this once with a Talbot Solara which had stood for quite a while and the little B...... S had filled air inlet with hemp from across the other side ...

Allow plenty of time, I haven't done one on a Z3 but have done several types of 3 series cars over the years, none of which was easy. All needed the rear suspension arm removing to allow the bearing to be pressed out. Do you have access to a press? Even if you are mechanically minded it could still ...

When you get your window lift/lower problem sorted give the window channel rubbers a coat of silicon spray to lubricate them. You will be amazed how much easier and quieter they go up and down. These often go Unmaintained.

Hi Alan glad you got to the bottom of your noise problem. I do have a pair of new parking brake shoe expanders to sell if anyone needs them.

By the way brake pad wear indicator wires are available through Pages , Euro Car Parts etc.

Mike is absolutely spot on. I often take cars into work for M.O.T. and on the way I always give the brakes some work to brighten up the discs before getting to work. The rear brakes do very little to keep the discs bright.

Before doing anything on the hydraulic system FIRST apply pressure to the foot brake pedal by means of a bar or socket extensions or by whatever means you have. Greygate plastic polish is a fantastic product. It will get rid of scratches BUT you can't do it on your own. You will need someone on the other side of the screen with a piece of wood or similar well wrapped in a towel or like to keep the window flat whilst you polish the other side!! Simples. :rtm:

Like Beerbelly, I un plugged the pump motor to stop the racket and have had no ill effects but I think that if you disconnected the vacc pipe to the valve it couldn't open anyway. I'm not convinced that this small electric motor would be enough to overcome the pressure of hot exhaust gasses to blow ...

It's no so much about cooling as getting clean air into the engine to reduce emissions. Also it only runs for a short time limited by the car's ecu's. Either re charge the battery when it goes flat or connect a trickle charger to the battery terminals direct. That's what I do. Also for Christmas last I got a starter/charger so if you need to start your car quickly you can.
