Re: Convert Orange Indicators
Well I made a complete mess of my headlights yesterday. Decided to try the halo retro fit, and well i must admit i'm not a very good cook, so putting the headlights in the over at 100oC for 10 minutes resulted in a very nice melted headlight, where the clear plastic melted on one of the metal bars i...

Adjust bumper position
Hi All, I accidentally caught the nearside front bumper on my driveway fence panel while reversing out, and it has pushed the bumper out of position. Do you know if there are adjusting screws or nuts so i can adjust it back to its original position or are there standard bolts that will need tighteni...

Re: Gear Change Very Hard
Yes it does get easier after a while, more so at the moment as it is unusually hot in UK
The car has done 107000 miles
Will different oil really make much difference?

Re: Gear Change Very Hard
Hi
Its definitely a Hard push needed. Lower gears and reverse are by far the worse. No difference between static and on the move, although it does get a little easier ( not a lot ) after been running for a while

Gear Change Very Hard
Hi All I'm looking for advice with my gearbox. I've only had the car a couple of months and it has being doing it since I bought it and not being massively mechanically talented I though I would ask for advice before going any further. Every gear change from reverse all the way up to 5th is a strugg...

Re: Urgent Advice needed on Ignition Barrel Issue
I will let you know tomorrow, as I completely wasted an afternoon. I decided to try and bump start the car to take it to the mechanics and failed miserably. the car wouldn't start and I ended down the bottom of a step hill and had to call the AA. Waited near on 2 hours, only for him to start it in u...

Re: Urgent Advice needed on Ignition Barrel Issue
Thanks for your advice one and all. I managed to get in touch of a friend of a friend who's a BMW mechanic. He's hopefully going to take a look at it for me today

Urgent Advice needed on Ignition Barrel Issue
High All. I've got the fairly common issue of the rolling ignition barrel. The ignition has stuck on the full turn so it is stuck in position with the electrics on. I have taken out the battery for the time being so i can jump start it if needed. I had a look at a video showing how to take the barre...

Re: Where have all the Z3"s gone?
As a newbie Z3 for only a month now, I never really looked out for them until now, and have since seen 4 or 5 in the Gillingham, Kent area. In fact I was following a gorgeous silver facelift model yesterday, gave the driver a wave but I think he thought I was missing a screw .... which i am..

Re: Innit for the Long Haul
Managed to get the last bits plasti dipped today. Must say it looks a lot nicer with a layer of gloss on top, and the black wheels actually look nice. Still got LOADS to do.... http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/waynerp/Z3/110_zps77aebf75.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/waynerp/Z3/18_zps7...

Re: Innit for the Long Haul
I bought a starter kit from http://www.matt-pack.co.uk
Ingot 10 litres of premixed, but only used 5 litres.
So if you've already got a spray gun etc you could just get the paint for about £60 for 5 litres!

Re: Innit for the Long Haul
Hi Dave. Yes i wanted to see what it looked like with the brake light on but hey the lighting board has completely rusted through!! I am going to try and repair it tomorrow, but the beauty of this plasti dip is that it just peels off! its amazing stuff, so if i dont want it on the high brake light i...

Re: Innit for the Long Haul
HI All. So yep i had a crack at the Plastidip today. Was a bit nervous as i've never tried anything like this before, but I figured the paintwork couldn't look any worse than it currently is. So while i am saving the pennies for a full on respray i've dipped it 'Dark Grey', or to everyone else other...

Innit for the Long Haul
Hi All, This is my first Z3 which i purchased a couple of weeks ago. It was love at first sight, and every time i log onto this forum and see what some of you have done to yours is inspiring me to restore 'Burt' to his former glory. He's a 98, 2.8, and has a gorgeous exhaust tone. Body work is far f...

Re: Convert Orange Indicators
Hi Dave.
Many thanks for the advice. It makes a huge difference with the clear lenses.
I'm going to upload quite a few images in a few days as i'm giving it a temporary colour change.

Hi All I've just purchased my first Z3, last friday and have absolutely falling in love with it. I have a huge list of things i want to do, as it needs quite a bit of tidying. I've had a search through the forums but was hoping someone might be able to tell me if it is possible to change the front h...
