Re: Silverstone Classic 2014
I shall be there both days again this year, but in the 3.0csl and I am also booked to do the AA 'Grand Tour', which is a rally that involves a trip out into Northants and Oxfordshire before we arrive at the circuit and another parade lap at some point during the weekend. Yes - I meant to say that I am surprised by the ratings Scorpion quotes. My experience of the Toyos must come to about 15,000 Z1 miles and a further 50,000 in my M3 and I would say that their wet weather grip is not very reassuring for the first couple of miles, but after they are warm there is noth...

Re: Tyres
I've used the T1-R on my Z1 for years now and I rate them very highly. I also used them (same size even) on my old E30 M3. The 'must have' tyre for that car used to be the Goodyear Eagle F1 (old tread pattern), which were on the M3 when I got it, but over the time I owned the car these moved to 'NLA...

Great write up Ian. You make it sound so simple. After reinforcing both front wings while on the Tech Day, I took the opportunity of a wash-out Bank Holiday Monday to spend some time on the rears. Hmm. That makes Magic Violet look truly subtle! That is definitely not for me  As for the Dino - well. I am somewhat familiar with the brown curse, as you know. However, that vehicle doesn't so much 'take the biscuit' as represent the biscuit itself. Is a Dion VIN really worth £130k these day...

Good idea to replace all of these as they do get sad and tatty quite quickly. I am convinced that is what is leading to the spate of cracked panels around now. I thunk I have a very few of these, but i would be in for a bulk purchase, rather as Roger did with the SHC630 gearbox oil a few years ago.

I went for the 150+ option. What a sad little car. To make that nice inside would take a lot of money and almost better to start again with some sort of non-original retrim. If it comes to it, I don't think that the importing is difficult at all. I can't say whether Weismann did the conversion, but my guess is that the choice of the US spec 'M3' is that it has the more normal plenum chamber that is associated with the single throttle body and as a result the brake servo set up is unchanged over standard.
