It's a bit of a con really as all it seems to do is pump air down the exhaust. It doesn't reduce the engine emissions, just dilutes it with air for less PPM.

Quite an expensive part to replace if it fails. And they do!

The basic problem with headsets is that the day you most need it, is the day you forget to charge it, so I recommend full car kits such as CK-7W. I had two CS-7Ws, one in the ///M and one in the 530. They work great with Nokia handsets, but really hit and miss with other brands. Blackberry not good...

An impact driver works wonders on risky hex-head or cross-head bolts/screws. Just be careful how much welly you give it.

Any garage with the correct tools should be able to do this in under an hour. Also, the lower strut bolts and the nut on the pinch bolt are single use items and not expensive either. The problem is likely to do with a small amplifier attached to the back of the left hand footwell speaker. I suspect the relay on the circuit board has a dry joint (soldering fault) or is faulty.

Do a search here for footwell amp to find more information about it.
