So please do post a picture of it when you can!! I ended up fitting a JVC chameleon unit instead, which is very trick and still mana...

I really should have posted pics of my winter drive from Italy back to Glasgow for you :) Best car I saw was a mere 911 turbo though... I'm planning my descent to warmer climes in mid-July. This year I have been planning to drive through France down to the southern coast as last year I did most of t...

As I don't want to do any cosmetic mods to my lurrrrvely 2.8 I have been thinking about some performace mods... I have been thinking about better brakes for a start (they still feel a lot like my old 1.9's brakes, is that normal?) and a chip from Jason's ChippedUK after the brakes have been installe...

Well they do fold, however the folding does require some force. There is no special move, you just push them. I'm not sure whether the folding is intended for normal everyday use as I don't remember reading anything in the manual. But if you want to remove the mirror base, you need to fold it accord...

You need to remove the entire mirror assembly I'm afraid, base, covers, the whole lot. But it's not hard to do at all. The mirror glass itself just pops out with a bit of careful pulling. Everything else is just screwed together so it's pretty obvious what you need to do once you have removed the mi...

By the way, on the subject of mirror bases, I was asking if anyone had a replacement here as I had some bubbling too. Since no-one replied I took the plunge and fixed it myself yesterday afternoon. Rubbed the base down to the bare metal with sandpaper (phew). Then applied three coats of spray primer...

I have tried PlastX. It's good but you must use it very regularly, and that means once a week, else the screen just reverts to its old condition pretty quickly.. By the way I find the dirt and dust to be the major problem rather than the scratches... I used to hate the hazy plastic screen initially,...

On the topic of fit birds: I think the car does less to attract them than my old corolla. Apparently most girls will think that either you're some playboy or someone who's too full of themselves. It is indeed a common problem. A new mirror base (unpainted) is around £125+vat.. so yes it is a costly fix unless you take the time to remove the mirror base from the door, rub it down and have it re-painted. It's not a hard job: removing the mirror will require a T10 bit though :) You can get a re...

You just can't win with insurance companies, can you? They force you to buy a tracker so if the car gets stolen and is recovered they don't have to pay for your loss. And of course, loss of income due to devaluation of the car is not covered in any policy. I think that if your neighbour's car is sto...

Will this work on a OEM Z3 Business CD unit?
Found this Called up Henry Bros, the part does exist and costs around £50 inc. VAT... Supposedly it plugs into the CD changer socket at the back of Business CD head units and allows you to input from a source such as iPod rather than the cd-changer. So the question is: Has anyone here tried this? T...
