Those instructions are for the later all-in-one key, going by the year of yours it will have the separate alarm fob which is programmed from behind the glove compartment there is a guide on her to do it. Sounds more like the wiring loam in the boot though

You may find the squeak is gone tomorrow. I get this if I leave the car parked on the drive on a very hot day, when I move the car the peddle squeaks, the rest of the time its not there.

Like Deano 1712 I have no bulb in my boot light, my boot lid is left slightly open while in the garage as it is left connected to the trickle charger on the wall when the car isn't used, nothing wrong with my car, so because there is no bulb doesn't mean there is a problem

2 pack and cellulose are 2 different types of paint. You can still get them, but not many paint shops want to use them, there are a lot of new regulations to what/how paint is used, as you say its all water based paints now

Fix the problem first before replacing the battery. If it has been drained completely, it is unlikely to ever recover completely, but if you put a new one on now, it will just drain that as well. I don't know the answer to the problem, but I have heard of this happening regularly to Z3's. It went on my own car early on in its life taking out the rad. It must be another of the many design faults in these cars

I think they class a mod as a after market added part, not as it left the factory. If you spec'ed your car with different wheels or extended leather ect I don't think that is classed as a mod, it was factory option

It sounds like the alarm/locking fobs are out of sync with the car. There is a post on here on how to re-sync them, its in the area behind the glove box for the pre-face lift cars and I believe its done on the keys for the later cars

Yes, left side, it’s the bending when opening and shutting the boot that cracks the wires. I think there is a updated replacement loom available, but not 100% sure of this

I’ve had this problem on the driver’s door, stops working for a couple of days then is fine for a couple of years without touching anything. There are people that have taken the outer tape off the loom and soldered/repaired the broken wires to fix the problem

I have a full tonneau for my frog, so I know exactly what you mean, and it has a zip down the centre allowing you to leave just one side of the car covered. Quite a practical idea and keeps prying eyes from seeing inside the car whilst it is parked. This is the same type as I had on my MGB Roadster...

I too was attracted to the shape/looks of them the first time I saw one when they were first released, but at the time there was a long waiting list for them and they were being sold on at £1000+ over the list price, so it took a couple of years before I finally got one. Its not likely to be sold

I never put the roof down without using a widow blanket, even though I have a power hood and it means getting out to put it in place. There is no trace of a crease/line in mine. I also have a soft cloth laying across behind the seats where the roof lays when it is down.
