It looks like there is a small nick at the top of the plastic thread on the bottle. I fitted a new expansion tank from carparts4less last week due to bottom seal leak and the new one leaked from a flaw in top capilliary connection. You can temporarily remove the top retaining plate on the expansion...

The cables for the seatbelt tensioners are interchangeable, a PITA to do but it would rule out the cable if when cleared the fault stayed with the passenger seatbelt tensioner. The DISA system was fitted fron September 1998, when the M52TU engine was introduced - hence it is not included in the Bentley book. Some confusion here Mike. Agreed - the system defaults to ON on start-up - also if the light flashes during driving then the system is controlling.

I'm also looking for a coolant loss at the moment but it does not leak when cold so no pools on floor or in engine well. If it is the same as my 98 1.9 you will have a twin horn system - one situated in each wheel arch - if you can hear the passenger one you need to look at/listen to the other side. Forgot to say - if you unclip the air filter top cover and move that to one side as well as the duct it gives you a bit more clearance.

I remember my water pump being a sod to come out, IIRC I stripped one of the jacking bolt holes and had to re tap it to the next size up, it was purely corrosion that was holding it in the end. Start by looking at boot wiring loom. Have a look at this link to get general idea:

Also look at various threads on `passenger door not locking' which is the more usual symptom on wiring failure - depends which cores(if any) are damaged.
