Re: Another thing after another

You may have a leaking air pipe after the MAF.

e.g. The MAF is sensing 50 litres/minute, but the engine is getting 60 litres/minute and the ECU is getting confused as it can't up the fuel injection time to compensate for the excess air sensed by the O2 sensor.

You can make ABS glue if you mix ABS chippings with acetone.

The glue can be coloured to suit the part being glued.

I used to have a "push-to-make" switch in series with the starter relay.

Press it when starting or the car won't start. I suppose you could bump start it, but the idea is to slow them down and deter them - you will never stop a determined criminal.

You don't have to run the engine to see a fuel leak. With the door open and your hand on the key, turn the key to position 2 (all lights on dash), but don't start. At the same time look under the car. You should be able to see where the leak is. Turn key off when you see the leak. Have a fire exting...

I wouldn't be too concerned about the cooling effect of the loop. Have you ever felt any heat in the pipe? - I haven't.

I doubt there would be any serious problems if you just bypassed the loop, especially in a temperate climate. If you were in the Gulf, it would be a different matter.

I've solved the problem with more learning. What you can see on the video is inertia scavenging. Inertia scavenging only works on systems with little or no back pressure (as you said). Wave scavenging is the one to go for. The wave can't be seen, but is generated when the exhaust valve opens. The po...
