Throttle position sensor doesn't bring the ECU light on. Most of the things I'd have thought would be logged by the fault codes though. I had exactly same problem, turned out to be the throttle body cover, apparently some sensor has gone. Price £170 + Labour They also replaced 2 faulty cylinder coils at the same time, not sure what relevance they had with respect to the loss of power though. I'm hoping my mate at the BMW dealer can...

I had the same problem when feathering the throttle at a constant motorway speed, the car would jolt and lose power and then pickup again. I've heard of crank position sensors going, throttle bodies and a number of other electrical maladies (coils etc). Suggest a quick visit to a friendly local independent to get the ECU fault codes looked at, if there's nothing more obvious. Get it fixed and don't let it spoil the summer fun! we have...

Nice drive this afternoon, but i started having a little problem, when i was driving at a constant speed of say 70mph the car would suddenly lose power, it was like i had lifted my foot of the accelerator, but as soon as i did accelerate either way it cleared, this was happening more towards the end...

No i haven't changed the discs, but i have fitted Mintex pads as they were excellent value, but i was more thinking towards the looks rather than brake performance, but thought i'd ask anyway.

i fitted Mintex MDB1538 to mine and they seem as good braking as the original, but with less dust, cost just 19.98 (trade)...bargain has they do have the anti sqeel pad on the rear of the pads.

I'd agree with you there but the issue of paying twice for an MOT has only been a problem since computerization of the MOT system, before when the garage did a retest they would just check the failure to see if it's been done, now they have to log on to a computer and do a half or full test dependin...

well i'm with BMW on this one, I've been recommended the Castrol Edge by both of our oil suppliers, they have both been to see tests on the different oils that break down under certain heats and uses and the SLX II Longlife as it was called then passes every test and didn't break down for a long time.

the more i look at the picture the more it looks worse than it is, a big dent on single skin panel is not the end of the world, but if that had been a bonnet or a boot lid it would certainly need replacing....Good Luck I bet when you take it for a quote the estimator will be shaking his head, rubbin...

i can't confirm it with the boys from work but i think it could be repaired (a big repair though), i don't know the exact price but i would have thought £300-£400 (ish) if it can be repaired.

a photo from further away would give me more idea.
