My Z is fixed wu hu!!!!
It was the air MAF which was causing the problem and its got a new one put on. So 6 new spark plugs, 6 coil packs, new oil and filter cleaned it is running sweeter than ever.

Update on the engine, the guys who are looking after my car took it to BMW in Leeds and the machine came up with 4 coil pack faults which we thought great and to save money they have changed them for me but with them fitted the problem still exists. If money was no object, so easy option drop a low milage E46 engine into the Z3m which would give a new heart into an high milage car. The E36 M engine how many miles have these cars been good for with regular service ect.

Thanks guys for the help I have printed the post off on my printer to take to my mechanic to have a read. They are very good and have looked after me with abs sensors being dirty and cleaned them so I would think they would give the cam position sensors a clean, if this is not the problem I think it...

Yep the lads at the garage say it’s a fault code with my Lamba error well 2 errors, they believed it may be a gasses escaping from the outlet manifold but have not changed it yet as they are not 100% sure. With putting a catalytic cleaner it did for one day seem better so backing up your information...

Car still not right when engine is started with revs up and down between the 500-900rpm. Shaky ideal and exhaust making a chocking noise and only clears when fully pressed accelerator, driving power delivery seems better now thou with that catalytic leaner. Think it will have to go back this week.

Ye Robert T the wheel that I bolt through is thiner than the originals or even deeper set back and as the bolt starts to thred into metal plate behind that is quiet thin compaired to the back.

Thanks everyone for your input, this is my concern with spacers the wheels will protrude out of the arch at the front too much. If this doesnt go to plan and a garage cannot fix the problem looks like I will be left with alloys that wont fit and out of pocket. :bawl:
