Re: bulb under the rear view mirror
I find this mod all the more valuable that Z3s are fairly low, and the lights of vehicles following you do have the tendency to shine straight into your eyes. I can only recommend to 'upgrade' your mirrors, considering that it was reasonably cheap and quick. Definitely worth it considering how usefu...

Re: bulb under the rear view mirror
Hi all, My 2p's worth: I think I read somewhere that all UK spec Z3s have manual dimming mirrors, a lever that pivots the pane to deflect blinding glares from other vehicles. It is however possible to fit an auto-dimming mirror. I should know: I've done it! I went to a breaker's yard and obtained a ...

Re: Questions about roof headlining and seat bases
Hi, I can't say about headlining, but as far as the stuck seat is concerned, I would've thought that swapping motors would be the easiest option. I've had to go down that route, and found that it took longer to take the seat out than to swap motors over. The spindles disengage easily, and the motor ...

Wishful thinking?
Hi all, When checking over wear of the rear brakes the other day (think I had a bout of sticky caliper/hot-wheelitis) I noticed an 'AC' tag stuck on each rear spring (black letters on yellow tag). Nice car, and I especially appreciate that the video is not about speed and performance, but more about enjoying the drive. Mind you, beautiful landscapes definitely help. I don't remember cleaning out the switch taking long, probably 30mn or so. Taking the seat out doesn't take long at all: it's only 2 nuts and 2 bolts. Then, as long as the alignment of the two runners is preserved (when replacing bushes), it's more daunting than difficult. But if you mess up reassem...

Re: Seat Problem
Hi, If the seat goes one way but no back, I would rule out a loose wire, as it is the same motor for both: one motor for up/down, and one for forwards/backwards. The seat switch is more likely. Spraying contact cleaner straight onto the switch is unlikely to sort it, as it probably won't penetrate e...

True, but then again, it's a good time to buy one! I suppose it works opposite to 4x4s, whose prices tend to rise as the winter approaches. Hopefully you'll find a buyer who'll see your (great) car as a bargain to snap up before prices start creeping up come spring.

A set of seat bushes from Aceman, fitted today. Fitting is fairly straightforward, but I would advise to only remove a little material at a time and test fit often. As for the amp, I'm assuming there's one, since my car's got the basic setup: 2 foot speakers, 2 tweeters, 2 bulkhead speakers.
However, a look around the forum indicates that a faulty amp in the footwell results in non-working foot speakers. Is that so?
