Tim, Sorry to resurrect this from the depths of the archive; how did you get on with your Roadster Solutions boot tidy? Would you recommend? Thanks, Chris Hi Chris, Yes been really pleased with mine, especially for storing smaller items which saves them rolling around the boot, http://s21.postimg.o...

There were 119 watchers though so who knows what the bidding would have got to. I know if it had sold I would have regretted it immensly. Tim. Probably the majority of those "watchers" were people on here and t'other place. It's incredible to think that such a low reserve would have got s...

Re: Any one used thesofttopshop?
Hello Tim, I see you ended your listing early as I was following it. What sort of figure were you hoping for? Regards BB Yeah I ended the Auction as I couldn't go through with it so have decided to keep the Zed. I'd set the reserve at 3800 which would have been a steal at that. Its very hard to put...

Hi folks It's getting time to get the hardtop off and I'm planning to replace the tired old hood with a nice new blue one. Re: Low speed 1st ,2nd gear 'clunk'.
I don't agree to be honest, adopting ones driving style makes no difference whatsoever with mine anyway. If there is some slack in the diff it will clonk no matter what. I can do fast/slow/gentle harsh clutch actions and gear changes and will still clonk to a degree. Its not loud or alarming but the...

Re: Low speed 1st ,2nd gear 'clunk'.
Mine has clunked since I had the Zed at 21000 miles. I find it virtually dissapears in freezing weather, its never got any worse over 7 years. I had BMW check it over who found everything to be in tolerence. Changing the diff oil made no difference. I've known people to change the diff in the hope o...

Good luck on getting anywhere near that for it, a decent 2.2 with lowish mileage your talking 4kish private lol. The problem with modifying cars is you will never get what you've shelled out on it.

Looks great in the pics Tim, how does it look firsthand? Thanks Brian, its not 100% but not far off but considering how it was before I was quite surprised with the result. I would always go for a lower mileage car. Mine runs as sweet as the day I bought it 7 years ago and still on less than 27k. Just make sure it's serviced correctly.

I've never really had problems with the tyres after being laid up, just keep them at 33psi all round. If I was storing for more than 6 months then would increase pressures. I'm never keen on putting the car up on axle stands as the springs would be extended. Unsure if that would be a bad thing long ...

Re: To start or not to start?
Mines in storage for 6 months of the year albeight during the summer. I would never start the car as all your doing is filling the exhaust with water and creating condensation in the cylinder head, just buy a decent battery conditioner like a ctek and leave the Zed well alone until the spring.
