Bless you, Robert ..... some of us are slow learners! Andy did try to re-solder the solder, but our soldering iron is not good enough and not hot enough, so had no choice but to go see the professionals! This weekend I am hoping to put the glove-box back in and put the hard top on. We've got to adju...

Windscreen wiper mechanism buzzing

At first I could not figure out what the horrible buzzing sound was (worse than the sound when you turn off the car and you get that buzzing to let you know your headlights are still on). Then last night I was out and wen I got home it was buzzing badly. I turned off the wipers and ... they remained...

The whole DIY is really satisfying. I had never tried any such thing till I bought my Z3 and my son, Andy, said we could retro fit the roll bars ourselves, and replace the seat bushings and electric seat switch. And we DID! It was the most fun I had had in ages, and it removed all fear I had about w...

How long should I keep the hard top on?

Hi everyone Winter is starting to bite over here in NZ. I am going to put the hard top on, and just wanted to ask your advice. How long should I leave it on? I plan to wash the car first so that when I do fold down the soft top it will be clean and dry. But I don't want to damage my soft top, (had a...
